Wolf Moon

Fiber Art

18.5" x 61"

Artwork Statement: “Wolf Moon” was inspired by the view from the bay window on the house my parents built in the early 1970s. A view I now enjoy while sitting in my recliner, even in the dead of winter. Although we don’t hear wolves howl in this part of Indiana, navigating January weather does require a certain amount of strength and tenacity, if not wisdom.
The hand-dyed cotton in this piece was created by a master dyer from Maine. After her passing, the remainder of her fabric stash went to a friend whom I met at our local art center. She explained that she admired my work and that she had some hand-dyed fabric that needed a new home. I remain grateful for her trust and generosity and continue to incorporate this beautiful fabric into my work.
