Each of these small pieces is stretched over a gallery wrapped canvas. The canvas strainer provides much needed support, especially for smaller works which tend wrinkle and twist without a little bit of tension. Working small gives me the opportunity to be a bit more experimental. Trying out new techniques and strategies feels a little less risky when I’m working “small,” and I can apply what I learn to larger pieces which consume more resources.
